Posting life in pictures on Sunday, hosted by Sara at ...make music from your heart to the Lord. Want to play? Here's the beef. First of all, I haven't had time to get out to my suburban vegetable patch much lately. You saw the cauliflower that appeared there. I also found a few of these. I slice 'em, dredge each slice in Italian bread crumbs, dip 'em in milk and egg whip, dredge 'em back through the crumbs and fry 'em up in hot oil. Then I melt mozzarella on top and ladle about a tablespoon of marinara from a jar over each. These days I put slices of fresh tomato on top, because I have a plethora of those, so must eat at least one for every meal. This is the standard Tuesday night fare, so if you stop in on Tuesday- you now know what you're in for- kind of like over at MyADHDMe's place on Tuesdays. Side note: Eggplant purple is all the rage this season. If you ever wanted to wear it, this is your year.
Thought I'd show you Santa's choices. Wonder which one he comes down. Really though, will you just check out that blue sky! This is the sky I live under here in Michigan- luckiest girl in the world.
Bonsai popped out another flower, through yellow leaves and all. Way to go, Bonsai! You can do it! One bloggie asked me what her name is. Any ideas? Outside the Box named his, Chan. I've just been calling her "Bonsai". Maybe that's what's got her down. Leave me your suggestion in the comments.
I.T. knocked his sander into the plastic doohickey that was holding the mini blind up on one side. It busted- for good. I.T. fixes everything around here. That's why I never get a new thing. He always fixes my old thing. But this time, it was a goner.
I smiled underneath my face mask when he said, "I broke it, you'll have to get a new one."
"Okay, thanks, " I replied. " I hope you don't break the toilet, I hope you don't break the bathtub, I hope you don't break the........", I went on and on. He smiled under his face mask. I could see it in his eyes.
In the meantime, I can carry on a complete conversation with my neighbors when they are gardening over there in their side yard, while I'm sitting on the potty.
This actually happened on Saturday afternoon. I just called out, "Howdy neighbor!" to Fash's friend, who lives there.
"Mrs. I.T....are you...." , I think A. hoped it wasn't true, but...
"Oh, yeah, sorry about that, A. , but the mini blind broke." *flush*
There are just these types of advantages when living in the burbs, what can I say? It's best to know your neighbors.
African Children's Choir- made up of orphaned children from Uganda- raising awareness for the need to feed and educate and care for the unfortunate victims of war- our neighbors- God's own. The concert was stupendous! I could never say enough about it. Standing room only in this huge chapel on the college campus. High energy. Unlimited potential. Go see these kids and support them if they come to your town.

You crack me up!
I don't have a name for Bonsai. I'm terrible about coming up with names for things. Animals? Now that's different. If she were a dog we could call her Lady Barksalot. But alas.
Love the protective face mask. And you can just wash that gray right out of your hair!
On the potty while talking to the neighbor experience. LOL!!!!
How cute that little choir is. Would love to see their performance.
Loving those socks! Like I said, my daughter used to do that all the time. Hmmm, I might have to have a special guest this Tuesday. :)
And you even ended with balloons. You have too much fun over there. Is that legal?
We did our kitchen over last year and the dust and mess was everywhere for a while, so you have my sympathy!
I love your bathroom conversation - so funny!
Hooray for your walk!
This was a hoot. You are so...random! I'm feeling the kinship! Those kids were adorable!
Two names... Bonnie if you're more traditional or Ziah if you're more daring! I'm fond of the Ziah!
I so enjoy your running commentary to go with the photos! We LOVE eggplant so the next time we're in Michigan we'll be sure and stop by on Tuesday. That will be in...oh, about September 2011 :-)
My sky is bluer than your sky! LOL Seriously, I spent 20 years in Michigan and can honestly say the sky here is an intense, incredibly blue blue. You'll just have to come see for yourself :-)
You and my husband have the same kind of humor. I'm knot even kiddin'
Bonnie the Bonsai. Because she's a bonnie lass. Oh there I go getting my ethnicities mixed up again.
You look like you're about to hold up a bank! And we know all the best dressed bank robbers are wearing pink bandanas this year.
I feel the same way about our bathroom. It is the UGLIEST room in the house. Brown sink and tub, terra cotta tile floor, pink and blue tiles -- Ick! But since it's not our house, it's staying just like it is. We cured the absolutely-no-storage-whatsoever situation by putting up a shelf, but had to put it so high (so people wouldn't bump their head) that I have to climb on the toilet to get anything down. But that was the only place we could put it. A man definitely designed this house.
Oh Heidi, I would have SO loved hearing the concert! The stomping and hand clapping and singing and smiling... *sigh* I left a piece of my heart -- actually a big old chunk -- in Uganda. Sometimes I go to the New Hope website just to look at the photos and listen to the music :-)
How could you find anyone in that crowd? :-) Reminds me of when we'd make it back to our home church and there was such a crush of people I couldn't find anyone I specifically needed to see. They could have been three feet away but I couldn't see them.
Hope you have a great week!
I love how Project 365 really lets us share your life. Like friends do! I'm just so challenged with the camera it didn't occur to me to attempt this project. I did the meme today though! Fun.
I was just about to ask you what that picture was under the smoke stacks was when I read Kim's comment and figured it out! What can I say...it's Monday, only 2 cups of coffee....I'm just slow!!
Some people take their friends on the phone "with them"...you take your neighbors!! too funny!!!
I hear the walk went great!!! I had 2 friends there!
Wow. If Tuesday means eating like that, then I'll be at your house tomorrow!!
(You know what that means!).
Did-over my bathroom last year and I don't like it at all. Not being very good at such things, it took FOREVER!! The workmanship was pretty good but I must have been sleepwalking when I chose the color. I also broke my window covering at that time (little shutters). "Howdy Neighbors!"
P.S. This 5 word thing is harder than I expected!
Great 365!!
Please be in prayer for us down here in the south. It is not affecting our neighborhood, but they have closed th county school today and one of my friend has flooding in her neighbor hood. The rain has been hitting us very hard for a long time and it is predicted to continue all this week!
Shalom
Robin
Ok what happened to my comments? I will try again. I loved the post today and said that it was maybe a little too informative about the potty thing but it did make me laugh. :)
Me, too about when my husband breaks something and we have to get a new one! haha! I have no ideas for names, I'm lucky my husband and I came up with names for our kids!
Great story. What time is dinner? The face-garb made me put my hands up. Nice sox. But a propeller hat would have been easier to find.
God is a TARHEEL FAN. That's the reason He made the sky "Carolina Blue." Call the tree Bijin. Means Beautiful girl in Japanese. or Bijin-san, Miss Beautiful Girl...
It's kind of a mixed blessing, isn't it? Having a handy hubby? He can fix just about anything, but then you never get anything new. *hmph*
Smiling with you under the mask. *grin*
Heidi,
You know you are a lot like me, knee deep in anything requiring home improvement and remodeling. I don't think I could be as brave using the bathroom and carrying on the conversation with the neighbor however, I would have hung up a beach towel or something.
Gotta laugh at the insights and humors laced throughout your post!
Love and Hugs ~ Kat
Haha! That bathroom scene - too funny! Maybe bonsai should be called sunshine - it may perk up even more!
Smiles!
YOU are TOO FUNNY!!! I always have fun reading your posts, I love your sense of humor, it's as colorful as the mismatched socks!! Only you!!! LOL!!!
What a great way to start my morning......so thankful God led me here as I have my morning cup of coffee and decided to just see where I would end up.
Cracking up OUT LOUD about your conversations from the toilet....too funny!
thanks for the smile.....I needed it!
Hey Heidi I forgot to mention that you got a mention in my post today.
