Good Friday

Thursday was the Maundy Thursday service at the church where Outside the Box serves as director of youth ministries. It was simple, but powerful- the readings from the word that tell of the betrayal of Jesus, the conflicted Pilate, the mob, "Crucify Him! Crucify Him!"....and the loud darkness when the Savior of the world gave himself up...for me.

The cello bellowed agony, but the hints of love were heard. The church was stripped of all its accouterments. A child carried out the single burning candle.

Bare. Dark. Silence.

Waiting.....

bellowing cellos...mmmmm, their dirges speak to my soul, too. Prayers for self-searching through Christ's eyes...may we all bow down.
Thanks for sharing.
