Storing up- um, Treasure...

This is Fashionista's peanut plant. No, we don't live in Georgia. I have no idea how peanuts will feel about Michigan soil and climate. We shall see.

But I am stalling.

The truth is: I woke up with this verse on my lips. Yes. Verbally being spoken out of my own lips as I brushed my teeth.

"Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Matt. 6:19-21 ESV

And all I can think about is the toilet paper. The 433 rolls of toilet paper smashed into the top of the entryway coat closet. The Costco toilet paper.

That toilet paper is not where my heart lies. To prove it, I am considering having Fash set up a toilet paper stand today. Kind of like a lemonade stand. And the rolls will be free. 300 rolls of toilet paper.

This will not even seem unusual in our 1970 something suburb.

Oh, when you let your conscience be your guide....

you ARE so funny...yet very thought provoking

i do find that i love being able to grab a bag of 'whatever' from my 'tornado corner' of 'sam's' stash for our community co-op (without having to go back to the store)

a toilet paper stand. you are too funny, heidi. your neighbors will really wonder... although i suppose they know you well enough that they will just say, "okay, there goes hedi again". :-)

have you tried a local food pantry, for example byron ministries? i bet they would LOVE to have it. altho' that would deprive you of the, uh, excitement of running your stand, it would no doubt save Fash & I.T. untold embarassment.

Oh heavens. I have never bought 433 rolls of toilet paper at one time. Seriously!

I'll be glad to take some of that TP off your hands now that I'm back to watching my 3 little granddaughters during the day. They could make TP stock go up quick! LOL!

Ha. You sound like me more and more. No, I don't have the toilet paper stash (although not a bad idea), but i do keep an emergency corner for emergency supplies whether they be natural disasters, government disasters or anything else that may come our way.
I try to keep it rotated in and out with our daily use.

BTW, watch out for those gallon jugs of water. The corners spring leaks after about a year and if you aren't there to catch it, you get a permanent mold reminder of the shape of the bottom of your water jug on your carpet. Now saying it happened to me of course....well, maybe it did.
