Over 40- Where's that Fountain?

I was just reading posts over at Never Growing Old and am hoping to find the fountain of youth Java's been drinking from. That body would be nice, but my mind is in particular need of a swig.

Thursday night I got home from the bookstore at 10 p.m. It was dark except for a light shining in the back yard. I pulled some laundry from the dryer and headed for our bedroom closet. I felt around- couldn't find the lamp switch, but in the blackness my eyes saw a head sticking out from beneath the covers of our bed. This made me flinch and gasp, as my mind reasoned, "If I.T. is in the back yard, who is in our bed!?" And thanks to watching Friday the 13th every other weekend back in junior high, it occurred to me that this person could be dead!

For a split second I thought maybe I.T. was trying to trick me, so I called out at the head with a tinge of anger, "Are YOU in bed?!!?" Immediately I felt bad because of course it had to be I.T. in our bed. And now I'd gone and shouted at him and woken him up...

My fingers found the switch and the light snapped on revealing one corner of a pillow covered with a burgundy case peeking out from between three others in ivory pillowcases. In the dark this looks exactly like a dead head!

The incident reminded me of this bumper sticker I saw recently: I feel myself getting dumber just listening to you. In my case, it's me listening to myself that is making me dumber. Or crazy at the very least.

Earlier today I was driving behind a car displaying this sticker:

Honk if parts fall off.

I hope I find the fountain before I need to stick that one on the back of my shirt.

And where was I.T. in all of this?

In the back yard.

Oh dear! Your over-active imagination is going full speed, isn't it? There's a Fountain of Youth?? I'd take a dip or ten or twelve!

If you hang a suit jacket from your husband's highboy dresser, and wake up in the middle of the night, it looks like someone is standing there. Just saying!

I love your new tagline and layout! It's beautiful!

I’ve been keeping up to date with your site, but just don’t always have time to comment (sorry). Just thought I’d say hello again so you know I’m here!
