All summer I tried to get a shot of this bee. More than once I almost got stung. She or he, is this a he or a she bee? Probably our friend, KW will know. I'll guess he. He would not stay on one flower long enough for me to choose the best setting, focus, try to figure out how to get the light right. Today I just didn't worry about it. I put the camera close and holding it as still as possible, pushed the button down. Yeah, I see the shadow and some fuzz, but I did get that bee! See....

It's a good shot! I've tried to get a bee on a flower and know how hard it can be!
Good one Heidi!!!
I hope you slept well?
good shot, bees are so difficult!

Hi. I've been away from the computer for a while. Had a cold. blech!
Had a bad experience with bees once. (almost funny now...but not at the time!).
Your photography skills are awesome!!
From God's smaller & humbler creation comes such beauty, and "buzz". :)
Blessings,
Kathleen
Heidi,
Great picture and you are right, bees don't stay still for long. This one looks like if it stung it would really hurt.

Bees, butterflies, and birds-- always a challenge. But so beautiful to watch. I'm thinking that bee's sting would be painful. You are brave!
You got a great shot of that bee!
My understanding is once a bee stings you, it dies. So I think it must have been his relatives you were trying to photograph. Glad you both survived this shot.
it's great!
Persistance paid off. It is possible for a bee to live after it stings you if it doesn't loose its' stinger in the process.
Very Cool!
That is a great bee shot!!
great shot - of HER - the males only really fly for the mating and after that they laze around until the worker bees get tired of dealing with them and kill them off. All worker bees are female. Trivia for the day. :D
Great shot! Only a perfectionist (or perfect person) would worry about all that other stuff...
You are wonderful! Thanks for going to all the trouble for us! :)
Blessings!
