With Mondays like this Who Needs Dentists?

After a fitful night's sleep, due to I.T.'s and my tense, Sunday afternoon discussion concerning a certain budget (thank you, Dave Ramsey, for that Financial Police University), Monday rolled in about an hour late for what the responsible, working world finds acceptable. Thus, this mother/daughter home educating duo reluctantly marked themselves tardy. Two and a half cups of coffee (drunk from a uniquely Charleston mug *smile*) later, the discovery of the empty toilet paper roll came too late.

Mind far from the day's schedule and farther still from the calendar in the kitchen drawer by the phone that tells it, caused the call from the perturbed dentist's receptionist, which rang in as I stepped from the shower, to deliver a quick shock followed by a deep sinking feeling like being tied to a pole in the bowels of the Titanic after she hit the iceberg. Failure, my favorite feeling - punctuated by the fact that this was the rescheduled appointment from the one I missed last month. Who needs dentists anyway? I brush. "Well can you get here in two minutes?" No, I can't get there in two minutes, my hair is wet and I haven't brushed my teeth.... "Oh. Well. Then. I guess we can RE-schedule you for next Monday at...." But next Monday I may still be feeling too embarrassed and schmucky to face the dentist. I think I'll just move to Australia like Alexander in that Horrible, Terrible, No Good, Very Bad Day book.

The cupboards are bare, the shopping list lies on the counter. But is it possible to stay within the budget? Don't shop on an empty stomach. I am hungry. But the samples at Costco are enough for any girl's lunch. Costco. Budget? Costco. Budget? ???? It's 2 o'clock in the afternoon for crying out loud. I've gotta get going. I.T. will be home soon and no dinner could lead to another budget discussion. No thank you.

Tuesday, come quickly- I need to start over.

Oh my gosh! I haven't forgotten any dentist apt., but the rest of your day sounds about right. I'm ready for bed and it isn't 2:30!

What a way to start the day. mine didn't start well either. Our vehicle is scheduled to go in for some work on the tie rods tomorrow, however, this morning when I tried to leave for work it wouldn't start. So - that led to a cranky husband (He hates car issues) and probably a big bill tomorrow.
PS - I haven't forgotten to send you directions. I just keep forgetting to pay attention when I'm driving home so I can give you specifics!

Heidi,

I love going to Costco for lunch samples! Only its better on the weekend because the samples probably sell better then. Last time I went mid week there were only a few and nothing I would buy let alone sample.

Is it Friday yet?

In my world, forgotten meetings/appts are taken as a sign from God that I'm too busy. Or maybe it's just getting older...oh, wait...didn't you just have a bday?

Love you, babe, even if the dentist's receptionist doesn't!

My wife just made a dental appointment for me for next week, Yee Haa. She did get me some good meds to take the edge off. I am such a dental chicken. It is Tuesday so I will assume that all is well up your way. How did that coffee cup do?

It is now Tuesday so I hope you're having a better day today :-) I'm glad I'm not the only one who forgets things TWICE in a row. I tell ya, those Monday appts are a pain to remember!

Mugs are too cute. Giveaways are fun. All giveaways should be on Mondays to make up for it being a crummy day otherwise :-)

I've heard it said that the reason God created day and night is that he knew we'd need a chance to start over every 24 hours. Makes perfect sense to me.
