I'm joining Sonya, from Truth for the Journey and posting five things I am thankful for today. If you'd like to participate, click on the Thankful Thursday button and copy it onto your post. I always think it's nice to link back to the hostess of the meme, as well.1. I am thankful to have a bathroom wall. Getting the wallpaper glue off of it has been a challenge. I am thankful to have a bathroom with four walls and a house with a bathroom. I am thankful that not putting up wallpaper ever again in my entire life is my choice. I don't have to do it. Thankful.
2. I am thankful that my son, Outside the Box, is coming home from being gone all summer in New York- taking teenagers on backpacking excursions. I can't wait to see him and give him a hug and talk to him. I'm so thankful for him.
3. I am thankful that my tomatoes turned red. We have been eating them in one way or another at every meal. Last night I took Greg C.'s advice (Greg's General Store) and made a tomato pie- from a Paula Deen recipe that I altered to fit our lower your cholesterol in six months or else diet. The pie was good. Thanks, Greg and Paula.
4. I'm thankful to know Jesus and to have a Bible and the devotional, Streams in the Desert, because my need is great. I'm thankful that Jesus is enough and that his word is truth and everlasting. I'm thankful that he meets me where I am and ministers to me there.
5. I'm thankful for my electric skillet and my coffee pot, my vegetable peeler and my salad spinner. I have so many handy gadgets that make the daily tasks of my life easier. Do you know when I visited a girl in Scotland one time, she wanted me to bring peanut butter and pancake syrup. They didn't have those in her grocery store there. That was back when you could bring such things on airplanes. I'm thankful for peanut butter. I like it on celery with raisins- ants on a log, we call that. 100% pure maple syrup is the best on oat pancakes made with Stevia instead of sugar and I don't care what the lower your cholesterol in six months or else doctor says about maple syrup, I'm thankful for it and I'm going to eat it on my pancakes and I'm gonna let I.T. eat it too. We're eating that this Saturday. And being thankful.

Any tomato pie leftovers? Sounds fabulous. Pancakes sound delicious..we had them last night, but mine were whole wheat. I use greek yogurt and fresh fruit for a topping on mine.
I am thankful for prayer warrior friends like you.
Blessings, andrea

Tomato pie sound wonderful!!!
my fav kitchen gadget is mt lemon reamer, or my micro-plain!
Our very first home we bought (before children, which we lived in for 23 years) had wallpaper in almost every room. It all had to be stripped. The builders had put the wallpaper up right on the Sheetrock with out painting it so most of the walls got damaged as we stripped the paper off. The DH had to re-apply Sheetrock mud and sand multiple times to get the walls ready to paint.
It was awful!!! I feel your pain!
Blessing my bloggy friend

Heidi,
Hmm perhaps wallpaper is from the enemy. It looks great, but it down right difficult to remove, causes you all kinds of pain getting it off, and ruins the walls. Who invented that stuff anyway???
Love the remainder of your list too! Great things to be thankful for!
Love and Hugs ~ Kat
Tomato pie--I'm going to have to try that one.
I know what you mean about wall paper. The Mr. once told me that he was pretty sure if he went to hell that the devil would have him wallpapering a bathroom--with me!!
I'm so glad your son is headed home. Bet he has some stories to tell!
You will be glad to hear we now have such glorious items available in Scotland!!! I love maple syrup and my son loves peanut butter! Great list.

We have a lot to be thankful for, that's true!! I love my kitchen gadgets too, wouldn't miss them for the world, they make a foodie's life so much easier!! ( and FUN!) That tomato pie looks great, but I had no i!dea mayonaise could be baked? That's weird? No?
LOVE your list. My bathroom has some wallpaper I would love for you to come and take down. I would love to give you more opportunities to be thankful. :-)
Blessings ~ Lisa
Hi Heidi! Thanks for stopping at my photo blog. I'm excited after looking at your profile. You must live close to me because I also listen to WJQ. I also noticed the RCA connection. We are members of Lighthouse in Allendale.
I enjoyed your thankful list. I have also said no more wallpaper, and now I hear it's coming back in. :) I can feel the joy at having your son back home. We are currently in Colorado, visiting our son who is stationed here in the army.
Nice to get to know you. I'll be back!
That is a wonderful Thankful list!
I like gadgets too! And pie, although I prefer the chocolate variety over tomato. LOL!
Know you'll be thrilled to have your son home. enjoy!
